Sitges saw 25 mm of rainfall during Tuesday

The rain that fell in recent days, especially on Tuesday, generated 25 mm of water in Sitges, but caused few incidents, except for two specific power cuts.

The rainfall this Spring has made it possible to break the severe drought of the previous months and the subsequent water restrictions, which had placed the meteorological station of Aiguadolç as the one that recorded the least precipitation across Catalonia between September 2022 and August 2023.

The rain on Tuesday caused the old stream on Carrer Isabel Julià to flood in the middle of the afternoon with high levels of water, and which made it difficult for people to cross it. Access to the central gate of the Golf Club and Grills beach also had to be cut off due to the volume of water in the Riera de Ribes.

In the middle of the afternoon there were two power cuts in the Town Hall Square and Punta Gavina. Service resumed shortly afterwards. In the previous downpour, last month, power cuts affected a large part of Poble Sec and Pins Bens.

The sea temperature dropped to 21.5 degrees on Tuesday, although on Wednesday it was 22.1. On Tuesday last week it had dropped to 20.7 degrees.
